PLain english:

Protects the right of the people to own guns. There are many takes on this amendment, but the belief is/was that the populace owning guns was necessary for maintaining our national security and protecting against a tyrannical government.

Opinion:

It is the belief of Three Percenters and other Patriots that the 2nd amendment protects the right of the people to own any and all weapons or arms. The purpose of the 2nd amendment is for the people to stand up to a tyrannical government and to protect all of their rights granted by the Bill of Rights. If the people are to stand up to the government which is ruling over them, they should have access to equal firepower, regardless of the cost.

Some will argue that the 2nd amendment only applies to a militia and that the only militia currently is the National Guard. This however is a limited view in which no historical data is taken into account for. Many of the founding fathers in their writings touched on this exact issue and repeatedly made mention of the militia being "All the people".  We would urge opponents of the 2nd amendment to read the supporting documentation from the founding fathers.

Another argument for gun laws is that while there is freedom of speech, you cannot slander someone. That in itself is false. You can slander anyone you want, but it doesnt mean that you wont be sued over it. Similarly, you should be able to own any weapon you want, but what you do with it should be regulated. For instance, you cant murder someone. Just like you have a voice and they cant take that away, you should be able to have your weapons as well.
